The Royal College of Music in Stockholm is definitely one of the most impressive places I have been to. Here are some photos from my trip to present at Innovation in Music, June 2022. It was also great to be in Sweden at midsummer!
Hosting NoiseFloor at the Escola Superior de Musica in Lisbon back in May was a real highlight of the year for me. I think I must have been too busy to remember to take any photos of the event, so here is a photo of the city instead!
Looking back on my experience performing my piece for classical guitar and SuperCollider at the ICMC in Shenzhen in October 2023. What an amazing experience!
Very excited that our new edited collection has now been released. Many thanks to all the contributors and to the team. You can get hold of a copy here.
As part of the University's Profs in the Pav series, I delivered an online talk on Monday with my colleague Dave Payling - Live Streaming and Collaboration in Contemporary Music. You can watch the talk here.
In February 2020 my colleague Dave Payling and I were invited to present our work at the SABRE festival at the Zurich University of the Arts. I had no idea at the time but it was to be my last trip before the Covid-19 lockdown. A really inspiring few days!
My colleague Dave Payling composes audiovisual music. Last year (2019) we received Arts Council funding to create an audiovisual work exploring the history of the potteries industry in our local area. The work was written for the Accecer8 brass band, Matthias Mueller on Sensor Enhanced Bass Clarinet, Electronics and visuals. I composed the music and the electronic parts. Theses images are from the premiere at Middleport Pottery in Stoke on Trent in November 2019. You can see a video of the visuals with the electronics elements (but without the acoustic instruments) here.
